Would you like to join us on an intense retreat with your horse as one of the coaches?

Your desert retreat, together with your horse

You will arrive the evening before your retreat to get to know the desert, your hosts, and have dinner, overnight stay and breakfast in a desert camp with sanitary facilities.

The next morning you will be picked up or your hosts will come to you with the horses. Here you will get to know your horse for the desert trip and you can already feel his/her energy. All horses are sensitive, they “read” you immediately to attune to your energy. This means that a horse that is very temperamental can immediately become calm in your presence, or vice versa. However, the horse will always suit you to go on this adventure with you.

Up until lunch, you and your horse can get to know each other deeply, walking on the horse you enter the desert in confidence. For the horses a familiar path, for you a path full of discoveries. The journey is structured in such a way that you get all the time and space to get used to the rhythm of the desert, the day and the night and to your horse and the hosts and the Bedouin life.In addition, the energy healing unfolds day by day with a different type of meditation every day, inspiration cards, gemstones, tuning fork healing, intuitive and telepathic horse coaching and using the biotensor and Arabian therapies.

Your journey in the desert

In the quiet and peaceful desert, where you fall from one wonder to the next. There is hardly any telephone and wifi connection, where you live basic, only with the necessary equipment for the journey. There are hardly any external stimuli because you live to the rhythm of the desert. You experience the Bedouin life as a nomad, who moves from place to place. Surrounded by horses that radiate soothing energy and live in the moment. You, in nature, day and night, together with your horse, with the small group around you to absorb the energy of your horse, the desert, the rocks, the stones and the sand. Breathing clean air, enjoying the delicious meals that the Bedouins prepare together. Sitting around the campfire and listening to and telling beautiful stories. Being able to take up your own space. Nothing is required, everything is allowed. Collective and private healing sessions and treatments. Experiencing the dynamics of the group in which the horses and the Bedouins also play an important role.

Every day you are surrounded by the desert, while you experience it differently because of the changes in the landscape. Overwhelming natural colours that change every moment because of the angle at which the sunlight touches the sand and rocks, or a cloud casts shadows over the landscape between the sunbeams that you can bask in every day. You will discover shapes in the rocks that look like animals or people. Rocks that exhibit a work of art from ancient times such as the rock drawings and inscriptions in ancient languages you will come across. Water sources, once made by the different peoples and by Bedouins. Lots of green vegetation, especially after more rain has fallen and is retained in the sand. It is possible that one or more birds will accompany you while horse riding. You study how a dung beetle gets to work with some horse manure. How ants and termites work diligently on their constructions and provide food for the others. The objects they move are much larger and heavier than these diligent animals can actually move, how help comes from the group. There is so much to observe in the desert. How it is possible that in spring and autumn flowers in the most beautiful colours suddenly appear from nothing but sand, you can even discover mushrooms in the sand. Bushes that you thought were dead, come back to life. Besides this you will discover much more in the desert if you pay attention to it. A wonderful world to discover.discover mushrooms in the sand. Bushes that you thought were dead, come back to life. Besides this, you will discover much more in the desert if you pay attention to it. A wonderful world to discover.

Visit Petra

The first day after arriving in Jordan you can visit Petra, before the horseback riding retreat. Petra is the place that many people come to Jordan for, you really shouldn’t miss this. A city made in the rocks. Abandoned for a long time by earthquakes. The Bedouins who later went to live there. The world that forgot that Petra existed and was found again in 1812. For over 200 years people can enjoy the remains that have been preserved and are found again during archaeological excavations.

Tour Plan

1

Arrival in Wadi Rum, overnight in a Bedouin desert camp

With your own transport or by taxi you will arrive in Wadi Rum today in the afternoon or at another time if you come straight from the airport. The Bedouin desert camp is a place where you immediately feel welcome. In a bowl of rocks around you, a large inviting sand dune blown against the rocks and a view of the wide valley. Your room is decorated like a fairy tale. You have your own bathroom in your "tent". A delicious buffet dinner is ready in the evening, perhaps you will eat what many locals come to Wadi Rum for, zarb. Cooked underground, without the addition of oil or butter, a surprise when they reveal the food, with a delicious taste. A delicacy that caresses your tongue. If you are in the desert for the first time, the surroundings are enchanting, the richness of color, everything that grows there. The views are a feast for the eyes and then the deafening silence that you "hear".

Day 1 of the retreat with horses, getting acquainted and getting used to the desert rhythm

Today you will meet the horses! Your horse is selected based on your horse riding experience and the match with you as a person. Your horse is your personal coach for 6 days. In addition to the fun you have together to make this retreat. You are in deep connection with your horse after getting used to each other the first day.

Living in the rhythm of the desert, of day and night, being one with nature

You will notice that the desert has its own rhythm. The sandy plains alternate with sometimes immense rocks, which seem to have been pasted into the landscape. The sun plays with the shadow, and vice versa. Just as you play with your horse and vice versa. You live in nature, defying all weather conditions, but usually the sun shines to bask in the warmth. The play of light and shadow continues to fascinate. Just like in your life, the sunny side and your shadow side are both naturally present, it is up to you how you let them play together. The sun lights up certain areas, the shadow makes the colours more intense, so that your eye falls on them. This desert is not arid and dry, there is a lot of greenery to be found in some places in every season. Where the composition of the sand retains the water better. Many water reservoirs have been built in the rocks, by ancient civilizations and by Bedouins, you will see a number of them during your trip. In winter and spring they can be filled, the horses like to drink from them.

Lunch, dinner and overnight stay

The Bedouins make lunch on the way, depending on the season there is a short or longer break. The horses also get their lunch. All meals on the way are freshly prepared. The lunch is easily digestible because you continue on your horse afterwards. In the evening a healthy traditional meal from Jordan is cooked, even if you are a vegetarian. The nature camp where you stay the night is found in the late afternoon. A comfortable safe place to sleep later under the stars. We have small tents if you really want to use them. The Bedouins sleep in the open air as standard. What is more wonderful than when you open your eyes to see how the stars are positioned, the moon, you can almost touch the Milky Way. Feeling the wind caressing your face. You are sitting by the campfire, in the meantime the Bedouins are busy with the dinner, the horses, putting more wood on the fire, they make tea on the wood fire, often with herbs infused in it. These are the usual rituals. You can help everywhere or you take your own time. It's all good.

Day 2 of the retreat, horse riding and the horse as a coach

Waking up in nature, you open your eyes and see your horse standing there, maybe he/she is looking you in the eye. The preparations for breakfast start, all the stuff starts to pile up to be put back in the accompanying jeep. The horses get their breakfast, maybe some water. You get ready for the day, gather your stuff that you want to keep at hand. Breakfast is prepared. The horses get their saddles back on and are also ready for a new adventure.

The wisdom of the horse and the herd

Horses carry their ancestral knowledge within them. They are more resilient in all kinds of situations that they may encounter for the first time. A deep knowledge underlies this. In danger they will flee, although an occasional horse will fight the predator, they are not there in most places you go. During your journey you will tap into this wisdom. Perhaps you will go so deep that you will also reach the wisdom of your ancestors, or better understand why you are the way you are and do the way you do. Although the horse is a flight animal, you can respond by fighting, as an attacker or defender, freezing or fleeing. You will probably recognize this in your pattern. What is partly important during this retreat is that you see through your patterns in order to cherish them or change them if they cause you problems. You have the choice to be more assertive and to change your patterns or let them go.

The horse as coach

Your horse can tell you so much. They often make this known with movements, a certain touch, with telepathy, via insights, aha moments, a yawn or a breeze. They feel your energy and immediately go to the cause, the point for improvement, a problem that you have been struggling with in different ways, for a long time. You appear to be an open book for a horse. Straight to the core. Your, or another horse can even give a confirmation if you ask if this is what is now being pronounced as a translation of what your horse is passing on.

Healing through your horse

Your self-healing ability is known. You can do this but sometimes you forget. Or you have trouble loving yourself. Your horse can go to the complaint in you to send the right energy there. Your self-healing ability experiences this as the push in the back to continue on your own.

Totem animal

It is possible that you will encounter the same animal in different places today. It is also possible that an animal has been appearing in your dreams for a long time, on your path, as a real cuddle or plush toy that wants to tell you something. Is this your totem animal at this moment? Soon you will know more about the wisdom that this animal wants to make clear to you.

Your horse and telepathy

After a day of riding, on average 4-5 hours a day, it is already very different from when you first got to know him/her and ride on it. You start to understand each other, that level will intensify in the coming days. Because you can make telepathic contact with your horse. As soon as the silence of your eternal thoughts in you is enough to get the insights and understand them. Your horse and some exercises and instructions can accelerate this process. Everyone can do it! As soon as you "know" deeply and can distinguish whether these insights come from the horse or from someone else.

Lunch, dinner and overnight stay

Important parts of the day that determine your rhythm. You will be well taken care of. A delicious lunch somewhere, often at a beautiful viewpoint in the desert. A longer break between the morning ride and the afternoon ride to get to the place where you will spend the night. The desert is so vast, you see the rock you are riding to and unexpectedly you see that there is a large cavity in the rocks for a sheltered overnight stay. Where even the horses can stay. Or if it is warm you might sleep in an open place, higher up, with a good view of the surroundings, with the horses around you, one level lower. And there are more fantastic places to sleep. Dinner is different every day, traditional Jordanian, the Bedouins are proud of their kitchen, they prepare everything with the greatest expertise, hygiene and love. It is always a surprise what will be on the "table", that you can enjoy.

Day 3 of the retreat, energy healing and Arabic therapy

Meditation

Every day you participate in a guided meditation. In the desert you choose a place that feels good for you. In the sand, on or near a rock. Meditation can be done anywhere. If it feels more comfortable, it can be done while walking and even on your horse.

Inspiration card of the day

You bring your energy into the card set and draw a card without thinking. Or you ask a question and then draw a card. With some sets you can choose a picture that tells you something. There are even more ways to draw a card. Inspiration cards have a subject, to make you think, to inspire you, to bring up a memory, to give confirmation, to point in a direction, to make something clear that is bothering you. Sometimes it puts a smile on your face, sometimes it is like a puzzle that needs to be solved, sometimes it makes it clear that now is the right time to process something, to pick it up, to bring something to the surface, and sometimes it is a big question mark why you drew this particular card (which often comes with the answer later).

Sound bath

Every day you listen to a few tuning forks that work deep into your being. In your subconscious they touch with their vibrations the places where healing is needed. You can also see it as a reset of your cells to a healthy state.

Gemstone energy

Each gemstone has a different energy and color, feels hard or soft, warm or cold. You make a journey through the gemstones to learn more about your past, present and the path you have walked or are still choosing. The gemstones let you feel it and heal your body, mind and soul on a deep level.

Energy healing

Above are some components of the energy healing that you can expect. Click on energy healing for more information.

Arabian therapy

More of the mentioned Arabian therapies have been transmitted by the Bedouins. This ancient transmitted knowledge you feel now, depending on what your constitution asks for at this moment.

Horse riding, lunch, dinner and overnight stay

Of course you get back on your horse to ride further into the desert. To discover even more beautiful places. Every day more inspiration in the desert, beautiful views, and special details. Another new lunch place, and a carefully chosen spot for dinner and the night.

Day 4 of the retreat, creativity and movement

Movement

In addition to horse riding, today also other movements to keep your body flexible. To make room for the processes you have entered. Free movement, dance, music to get in the mood. Being in flow with what you do, being part of nature that makes the flowers and bushes dance in the wind. The fast abrupt movements like an animal can make these in the game, the dance of life, of love.

Creativity

A vision board made with what you find in the desert. How beautiful or ugly or fake it is what you pick up. To make a natural work of art from this after collecting. Colored pencils and paper are present to express yourself in this way. Intuitive drawing or using colors, or just recording something that is already bubbling inside you and wants to come up. It is often a nice way to express something.

Horse riding, lunch, dinner and overnight stay in the desert

Your horse takes you everywhere, a living being with whom you are deeply in contact. Your horse senses you, also what you are doing these days. And will respond to that. Usually there is a lot of understanding and the horse can give more clues. If there are many negative emotions that are released, your horse will help you to process that. In the meantime you know how you are part of the rhythm of the day and the night and of the desert. A well-prepared lunch and surprising dinner at yet another new location in the vast desert.
6

Day 5 of the retreat, sand bath and energy healing, bringing together your experiences

On the fifth day we will take a moment to reflect on what you have already achieved. What are you still struggling with, how can you perhaps approach certain things differently, what surprised you the most, which form of therapy works best for you. Your part is also part of a larger whole. That means that you can now also use your manifestation power in a better way.

Sand bath

Just like horses roll around in the sand because there is no water available, you will experience the healing effect of the sand. In the warmth of the sand, your body can sweat out everything it no longer needs. To literally and figuratively feel lighter afterwards, because you leave something behind in the sand that covers everything with love. Of course, there is sun-warmed water available to rinse yourself off with afterwards.

Horse riding, lunch, dinner and overnight stay

In the rhythm of the desert. This is your last night sleeping in nature. In the company of your horse.
7

Day 6 of the retreat, wisdom and confirmation, dinner and overnight in the Bedouin desert camp

Although the retreat continues today, it is also a conclusion of your personal journey. You have gained a lot of wisdom to continue this journey yourself. Life is a learning process, sometimes with turbulence, sometimes with a breath of wind. It is then good to stand still for a moment, to process and then make a leap because another process has been completed. Once your life gets into a certain flow, you walk the path that suits you, it is like a confirmation that is reserved for you. More self-confident and intuitive, you feel what is good for you. And that you make the right decisions.

In the afternoon you will arrive at the Bedouin camp where you started

The horses go home again, they long for the rest of the herd. If you come again, the horse will recognize you after 3-6 days of intensive togetherness. You sleep in a real bed again, freshen up in the shower. Enjoy the delicious meal again with a choice from the buffet.
