Your desert retreat, together with your horse
You arrive the evening before your retreat to get to know the desert, your hosts, to dine, spend the night and have breakfast in a desert camp with sanitary facilities.
The next morning you will be picked up or your hosts will come to you with the horses. Here you will get to know your horse for the desert trip and you can already feel his/her energy. All horses are sensitive, they “read” you immediately to attune themselves to your energy. This means that a horse that is very temperamental can immediately become calm in your presence, or vice versa. However, the horse will always suit you to go on this adventure with you.
Until lunch, you and your horse can get to know each other deeply, walking slowly you enter the desert with confidence. A familiar path for the horses, a path full of discoveries for you. The trip is structured in such a way that you have all the time and space to get used to the rhythm of the desert, the day and the night and to your horse and the hosts and the Bedouin life. In addition, the energy healing unfolds day by day with a different type of meditation every day, inspiration cards, gemstones, tuning fork healing, intuitive and telepathic horse coaching and using the biotensor and Arabic therapies.
Your journey in the desert
In the quiet and peaceful desert, moments of wonder are everywhere. There is hardly any telephone and wifi connection, you live basic, only with the necessary items for the journey. There are hardly any external stimuli because you live to the rhythm of the desert. You experience the Bedouin life as a nomad, who moves from place to place. Surrounded by horses that radiate soothing energy and live in the moment. You, in nature, day and night, together with your horse, with the small group around you to absorb the energy of your horse, the desert, the rocks, the stones and the sand. Breathing clean air, enjoying the delicious meals that the Bedouins prepare together. Sitting around the campfire and listening to and telling beautiful stories. Being able to take up your own space. Nothing is required, everything is allowed. Joint and private healing sessions and treatments. Experiencing the dynamics of the group in which the horses and the Bedouins also play an important role.
Every day you are surrounded by the desert, while you experience it differently because of the changes in the landscape. Overwhelming natural colours that change every moment because of the angle at which the sunlight touches the sand and rocks, or a cloud casts shadows over the landscape between the sunbeams that cherish you every day. You will discover shapes in the rocks that look like animals or people. Rocks that exhibit a work of art from ancient times such as the petroglyphs and inscriptions in ancient languages you will come across. Water sources, once made by the different peoples and by Bedouins. Lots of green vegetation, especially after more rain has fallen and retaining in the sand. It is possible that one or more birds will accompany you while horse riding. You study how a dung beetle gets to work with some horse manure. How ants and termites work diligently on their constructions and provide food for the others. The objects they move are much larger and heavier than these diligent animals can actually move, how help comes from the group. There is so much to observe in the desert. How it is possible that in spring and autumn flowers suddenly appear in the most beautiful colours from nothing but sand, you can even discover mushrooms in the sand. Bushes that you thought were dead, come back to life. Besides this, you will discover much more in the desert if you pay attention to it. A wonderful world to discover.
Visit Petra
The first day after arriving in Jordan you will visit Petra, which is the place that many people come to Jordan for and you should not miss. A city made in the rocks. Abandoned for a long time by earthquakes. The Bedouins who later went to live there. The world that forgot that Petra existed and was found again in 1812. For over 200 years people can enjoy these remains that have been preserved and are found again during archaeological excavations.
