Vision Quest, 4 days in seclusion in the desert

Your first day of the Vision Quest in seclusion in the desert.

Your place in the desert

Around 9 am you will be picked up to take you to a suitable place where you will stay for the next 4 days. Your luggage will be taken along so that you have everything at hand. A tent is available. You can choose where you want to sleep. Outside under the stars or in the tent. A mattress and pillow will be taken along, enough blankets to make it as comfortable as possible for the weather conditions so that you will not be cold. In addition, there is a farwa, the warm overcoat that the Bedouins wear when it is cold and that completely wraps you up. Of course, there is enough water and some grains of salt and fruit that you might need.

Visit

During your time alone in the desert, we will visit you briefly each day at a set time. Most choose not to talk during their seclusion. If you need anything, we will bring it with us.

Your Vision Quest

You choose to do this process yourself, to gain deeper insights, to get into a state through fasting that can bring you to the answers. You can get visions to show you something you are looking for. You get into a state that you can compare a bit with a kind of hypnosis, or to step outside yourself, a state that some people look for by using certain plant extracts or otherwise. A state of being, to be able to penetrate deeply into the hidden or shielded places in yourself. You achieve this in 4 days. For others it helps to meditate or pray during this seclusion to get into that trance state and to feel one with everything that is. You can see this as a gift to yourself, to reveal things in you so that you can see, feel, smell, hear yourself. Things that were deeply hidden come up. Your intuition becomes much stronger. You know that what you receive is yours. And you want to keep it with yourself or you want to dissolve it, or you want to distance yourself from it. It is a fantastic journey, you rise above yourself and will be able to love yourself so much more. You feel how strong and courageous you are by completing these days. Completely in nature, grounded with deep roots in the earth, open and completely connected to the universe or to God. You feel the energy flowing through your body, completely connected to the elements and your environment, that you are part of a much larger whole. And that you are never alone. Because you are your best company.
5

Day 2 of your Vision Quest

Day 1 is done. The rhythm of the desert starts to get used to. The sun rises, you wake up. You do what is necessary for you. You have the whole day ahead of you to decide for yourself how you spend it. In meditation, in prayer, walking, climbing, playing with sand, feeling the rocks, feeling the bushes that compete for water. Spending a long time in one place, focusing on the mountains, the far horizons, seeing something in the mountains or the clouds. The day slips by and before you know it, the sun sets again. You have had a visit and waved goodbye again, ready for the second night.
6

Day 3 of your life in seclusion in the desert

You feel the changes in your body, you are used to fasting. Curious about what the day will bring you. While you know how it will go. You decide what you do or don't do, what feels good for you. You don't have to take anyone into account, it's all about you now. It doesn't matter whether it was yesterday, today or tomorrow, this is what you have been longing for. Seclusion, just nothing at all while everything is happening inside. You have all your precious energy to use for yourself. And you easily absorb more energy in the desert. You feel the connection with your ancestors, the wise men from your family, you start to remember more and more things. You know better how your path will develop. Whether you have already taken the right steps for that or whether you are now ready to continue the long-delayed changes. Just like the wise men of the family or tribe, you "know" deep inside whether you are taking the right steps.
7

Day 4, the last day of your journey alone

The last day of your personal mission. The process continues, while you do not have to do anything, just be. How pleasant is your company? Do you have any questions? Feel free to ask. Some answers come quickly, others take time. Have you kept notes? Or do you enjoy the silence in your head, in your heart and in your intestines? Know that in this silence, this nothingness, there is all the space to let what is needed come to you.

Bedouin

They often go into the desert to isolate themselves in the desert, alone or with friends. To feel alive again, that everything they are looking for is already there. To come to themselves, to reset, to remember what is really important in life. To reconnect with their base.

Weather situation

Most days you can count on sunshine during this period. The weather is generally not determined by humans, a higher power is needed for that. A strong wind can blow, a sandstorm can develop exactly on your days in the desert, it can rain in the winter months, on average 10 times a year from a few drops to an eruption of water. Know that you are in a safe place. If the weather is that bad, it can be a sign, also for you. If it is no longer responsible for the Bedouins to be alone in the desert, we will come to you to present you to be brought to the desert camp or to our place, where you have more shelter. You decide whether you continue your isolation in the shelter of the "tent" or whether you break it. When it is responsible again, we will bring you back.

Last night

One last night in the desert, alone. The end of your 4 days in seclusion, your mission accomplished!
8

The day after your personal mission, retreat at "Wildflower of the Desert"

Around 9 o'clock we will come to you with breakfast. To break your fast together at your familiar place. Your special mission is completed. Today you will go back to the desert camp to freshen up and settle in. The morning is yours. Before lunch we will pick you up to enjoy a healthy, easily digestible lunch. After lunch we will continue with the retreat, energy healing to give everything you have experienced in the past 4 days a place. You will listen to the tuning forks in different frequencies, and we will work with the biotensor. Before dinner we will bring you back to the desert camp.
9

Visit to authentic living Bedouins, retreat in the desert

After your experience in the desert, we will gladly take you to authentic and traditionally living Bedouins who sometimes choose to travel through the desert with their Bedouin tent all year round and sometimes part of the year, with the animals that belong to them. These can be sheep and goats, sometimes with chickens and pigeons, or with camels and sometimes horses. You will be welcomed with tea and see how they live, which animals there are or we will find them with the shepherd somewhere else to graze. You can ask them questions. Although most of them only speak Arabic, we will translate for you and will gladly explain more about their lives, what is important to them. What they talk about. After tea, you can be outside with the animals. It is often far where they stay in the desert, it will certainly take half a day.

Lunch and retreat

Lunch is made in the desert and we will work with (semi) precious stones on the way in the desert. You will spend the last night in the desert camp.
10

Terug naar huis

The driver will pick you up at the agreed time to take you to the airport to fly back home.
There are different names for isolating yourself for a few days in nature. Vision Quest is often used, that is what the Indians call this isolation or the transition ritual from, for example, child to adulthood. Isolation or Solitude in English. Usually it is 2-4 days in isolation in nature. In this trip it is 4 days in the nature of the desert. The area of the Bedouins. Who themselves also like to make these seclusions when life becomes too much or when they feel like they are missing ground under their feet.

What will this journey bring you?

Fasting makes you hungry, while your body is cleansing and working hard. Your immune system will improve, your intestines will rest. You are tired, sleep less. You are on your own! You are in nature. All the time of the day and night is for yourself. How you organize your day and what you do or do not do. You do not have to take anyone into account, you are now in first place. Your thoughts will decrease or do you prefer to keep repeating all day that you are hungry? You make the choice whether you want to experience this retreat in a positive mood. For this, taking on challenges, things that you are not used to doing, is necessary. It is precisely the abstention from food that brings you into a meditative state. It is easier to gain insights, creative stimulation and you dive deep inside if you allow this. You get to know yourself even better. You get answers to many questions that have been on your mind lately more easily and quickly. You will make better decisions and you will learn what is good for you and what is not. A journey in seclusion in the desert can really take you to a higher level because you see the possibilities of your life better. No noise from others to disrupt your plans, just you facing everything. You may gain more control over your life because you can go back in the distant past when you were very young and even the ancestral knowledge can reveal itself to you. You understand better why you are the way you are. And if you don't like it, how you can change it. Everyone can do that at some point in life if that is what you want.

Breakthrough

Fasting for a few days and being alone in nature can promote real breakthroughs. Know yourself better, the faster processes will take place. This retreat is truly a gift to yourself. You feel yourself becoming stronger, you are braver than you thought. Especially in times of hardship you see more clearly, feel more, smell more deeply, and hear better. Your body is happy with a few days of fasting, which used to be very normal and is now almost unimaginable with all the available abundance, quite a challenge for some.     The breakthrough is partly because you don't have to do anything, you meditate or pray more, your thoughts finally come to rest. There are hardly any stimuli from your environment that you are occupied by. There is inner space to fill with visions that you can get during these days, the insights that you know are for you, answers to questions that you ask. You feel that you can be a better version of yourself, with more depth through the insights.     You don't work on yourself between doing the dishes and scrolling through your social media. For that you need time and space.
